Community Projects

RallySound believes that music has the power to inspire communities, and that small grassroots communities have the power to change the world. We have an amazing, kindhearted community that likes to do a little good. Collectively, we believe we can do a LOT of good! We strive to come up with meaningful and creative ways to involve our community in activism.

Inspired by some of our own Gathering community members, RallySound continued our letter writing project from December, renaming the campaign to “All Right Today”. The goal is to help spread cheer and positivity during a challenging year. The RallySound community was encouraged to continue sending greeting cards, short notes, postcards, poems, or inspirational quotes to our friends in rehabilitation facilities and nursing homes who were lonely or feeling “shut-in” throughout the winter. We partnered with three facilities in New England: Webster Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Rockland, MA, The Residence at Salem Woods in Salem, NH, and Chelsea Village in Chelsea, MA. We also included our dear friend Jeff “Turtle” Goulart who is recuperating in a hospital in RI.

Inspired by some of our own Gathering community members, RallySound hosted two holiday projects, “Calling All Elves”, to help spread cheer and positivity during a challenging year. The RallySound community was encouraged to send a greeting card, short note, postcard, poem, or inspirational quote to our friends in rehabilitation facilities and nursing homes who were lonely or feeling “shut-in”. We partnered with three facilities in New England: Webster Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Rockland, MA, The Residence at Salem Woods in Salem, NH, and Chelsea Village in Chelsea, MA. Our community also had the opportunity to engage in a toy drive for the children at PACE Head Start Children's Service Manager in New Bedford, MA. RallySound sponsored a toy and book drive for the kiddos in their programs. PACE Head Start is a non-profit, community based, anti-poverty agency serving the greater New Bedford, MA area. Together we developed a wish list on Amazon Smile, "Calling all Elves”, where our community selected and purchased a toy or book that was sent to the PACE Head Start Program.
